Leighton cooked dineer for the 3 of us and it was perfect in its simplicity. We had a quiet day, but I tried venturing out on Black Friday and quickly hustled back home! The roadways were bumper-to-bumper and after the first store not having what I wanted, I promptly came home and ordered all my Christmas gifts on-line! I am grateful for the internet and the peace and quiet of home!

Pop and Nancy are on their way to NYC, then Italy to spend the holidays with Jennifer and the boys. I feel it was God's plan that I was able to spend a couple of days with them as we ironed out a lot of past hurts and disappointments. I feel a heavy burden has been lifted. It was very cathartic and I recommend this method of putting things that haunt you on the table to straighten out. They will NOT repair themselves. It takes work and prayer and finesse, but it has many rewards. This is my gratitude subject for this post...

Whew!

Today I worked my patootie off! Seems everyone in the office needed me to do a job for them and they needed it yesterday! I suppose the gratitude I should feel is that they trust my abilities and knowledge enough to do the job right. I appreciate the acknowledgement, but by the same token, someone else needs to take a turn or old Kat-Daddy is gonna burn up in a flash of spontaneous combustion! At least I have a couple of days to stress about other things. I don't like to "bring my job home with me", so at least I won't be dwelling on that...I'll just dwell on something else! Some of them I am spiritually closer to and some I have yet to know well because of time and distance. I have other "brothers" and "sisters" who are friends and will be for life. I am grateful for them, too: for not judging me and yet, letting me know when I am out-of-line (a delicate balance!). I don't get to see all these sweet souls as often as I would like, but we always start over where we left off....that is my gratitude subject today...

Learning to be at Peace

This is one of my favorite nature photos ever...It is of three birds, but I call it a smile from God....

I open my blog with this picture because it represents peacefulness...something I so desperately desire.
